The law firm Sidley Austin LLP has published an update on how non-EU Alternative Investment Fund Managers have, to date, addressed the issues relating to marketing of their Alternative Investment Funds in the EU following the end of the AIFMD transitional period on 22 July 2014. Since this date, non-EU managers (and EU managers of non-EU funds) will need to comply with the AIFMD in order to market to European investors. The only route to market is via so-called National Private Placement Regimes.
From our own experience talking in particular to US managers, this topic is receiving much attention and we wanted to share with this excellent update with our network and followers.
INDOS Financial is able to provide US and other non-EU managers with a flexible and pragmatic depositary-lite solution to meet the specific requirements to market in Germany and Denmark. Please contact [email protected] for more details.
